Some exciting things to do in Madrid
Vintage inspiration in a train station
Nothing beats the pleasure of coming across the unexpected in a buzzing market. Picture a very nostalgic train station, and fill it in with second-hand clothes, jewellery, furniture and wooden toys. That’s what you’ll find in the Train Museum-the perfect stage for a cool vintage design market.
Creativity in an old tobacco factory
La Tabacalera’s is a historical factory, which was home to the former Spanish tobacco monopoly. It now hosts a wide array of social events, in the trendy multicultural neighborhood of Lavapiés.
A star for the night
Familiar with New York’s indie movie hub Angelika? If you want feel like the leading star in a film..this is definitely the café for you. Your table will be waited on by a professional actor- who will guide you into a movie screening, introduce you to a monologue competition, or even a short film festival… And if you like to be left alone with your coffee and that yummy piece of cake, you can always browse the 3000 titles of DVDs.
The sky above the city
Madrid’s skies are mythical, and plunging into them from the immense terrace of the Círculo de Bellas Artes, is a unique experience – a classic ‘must do’. You will get the most spectacular views of the city landscape – in the company of the most imposing statue of the Minerva goddess, absolutely memorable in the twilight. For 4€ you will also get access to the art exhibits around the building, and occasionally join one of the parties and wide range of events that take place on the terrace- poetry readings, fashion shows, or theme parties. And watch out for the Tartan Lodge, a pop-up restaurant opening soon…prev next
